How fast is it?
Over WiFi to the built-in drive, about 70 KB per second: an embroidery design lands in a second or two, a 500 KB program in about seven seconds, a 10 MB 3D toolpath in two to three minutes. The machine reads it at up to about 1 MB per second.
Can I load files while the machine is off?
No. WiFiDrive runs on the power of the machine’s USB port, like any stick, so it is off when the machine is. Turn the machine on, load the files, switch to USB mode, and start.
Does it work with a Gotek-equipped machine?
Works as the USB stick of a Gotek running FlashFloppy: upload disk images from the browser, and the Gotek picks them up when the drive returns. Not the Gotek’s factory firmware.
